NASA稱台灣為中國的一省

網友通報美國NASA在網站上稱台灣為中國的一省，這是讓全世界相關研究人員下載衛星資料的資料庫，申請資料時要登記國別，所以要到訂單(order form)的步驟才會看到國家的選項，圖片如上。

這個網站通報的網友常常在抓資料，以前只寫 Taiwan 而已，是最近才改的。美國國務院一九九六年備忘錄，要求政府相關部門及官員往後提到台灣時，一律以「Taiwan」稱呼，不得使用其他名稱。 NASA是受美國政府補助的單位，如何稱呼台灣應該按照美國政府的規定，他們的行為已經違反規定，我呼籲大家一人一信去抗議。

抗議信範本與步驟如下：

一、按一下這個連結，就會出現一個可以填寫建議的表單。

二、在第一部份填下你的個人資料，在第二部份填標題(Synopsis)的部份填上「Taiwan is not a province of China」

三、將下列的抗議信拷貝在內容(Detail)的部份寄出。

Dear NASA Official,

In the "Order Form" for the WIST product request, you mistakenly list Taiwan as " Taiwan , Province of China ", which indicates that Taiwan is part of China . Would you please remove " Province of China " from the list?

Taiwan is an independent country with its own government, elections, currency, army, and defined territory. Taiwan negotiates its own treaties with the United States . It is obvious that Taiwan is not part of China .

It is noteworthy that in the "EOS Data Gateway", the old version of WIST, Taiwan is listed without " Province of China " in the order form. So, again, would you please remove " Province of China " from Taiwan in the list?
